Our experience at Gosh Patisserie is wider than cakes, we make desserts too. We were approached by Azaro the Indian restaurant in Hove. Our brief was to design a dessert suitable for Valentines day. We suggested a chilli and chocolate decadent cake served with mango kulfi and a red sugar tuille.
The result was delicious and very fitting for a valentines meal.
On the weekend of Halloween I had the pleasure of delivering two wedding cakes to Pangdean Barn. One on the Friday and one for Saturday. Pangdean has to be one of the best wedding venues I have worked with recently. It is very well set up, professionally run and organised. Not to mention beautiful and just outside Brighton and Hove!
Friday's wedding groom had very skilfully made an amazing stand to present their wedding cake on, isn't it brilliant!
I also loved the deliciousness of Saturday's wedding cake, it was chocolate cake with kirsch cherries, cherry compote, vanilla white chocolate cream and dark chocolate ganache.
Check Pangdean out here.
Over the August bank holiday weekend we were at Hove lawns with our stall selling our cakes. The weather was kind enough to us and we had 3 great days selling and selling out on Monday!
We met lots of lovely people and had some wedding cake enquiries, one couple we are meeting tonight to discuss their wedding cake tonight.
Here are some pictures from the event, look forward to seeing you all next time!
We love making wedding cakes at Gosh Patisserie, they are the most personal of cakes but get eaten by the most people! Knowing where to start when choosing what your perfect wedding cake will be can be tricky here are some ideas....
Your favourite; flowers, era, hobby, artist, pattern on a personal item, detail at the venue, food, city, clothing designer.
Anything that inspires you and your partners world. The theme of your wedding will play a part in the look of your cake but don't be scared to try a wacky design or one that really stands out at a more traditional wedding.
We came up with the idea of a decorate your own wedding cake so you can get a high quality, delicious wedding cake but then decorate it yourself. Fresh flowers make an delightful choice and can be supplied by your florist alongside your other wedding flowers.
Have fun, that is what it is all about!
We have just started baking our delicious cakes for cafes in Brighton and Hove. We now supply 5 cafes; Bond St Cafe, Sixteen, Hen, My Slice and The Lanes Coffee House.
They all have something a little different from the next cafe to maintain individuality. On Saturday we delivered a massive rainbow cake to Sixteen to celebrate pride. Here is a pic!
One of the best things is when a cafe asks us to make a new cake for them, they know their customers better than us so it is great to be able to make the cake they want.
All of our cakes are fresh and never frozen we also try to deliver as often as possible so we can be flexible to the cafes needs. If your reading this and run a cafe then please get in touch, we would love to hear from you and bake some delicious cafe cakes for you too!
On June 4th my very good friends got married at The South Place Hotel in London. I was asked to make the cake and Melanie took the pictures, we were also the bridesmaids making the day extra special! After having our hair and makeup done we went down to set the cake up, here are some pictures.
